SOSChildCare is a membership site for parents and child carers to connect. The website enables parents to find quality child care while child carers can find a job by signing up free, creating their public profile and advertising their qualifications and experience in the child care industry. Parents can also sign up free, create their public profile and advertise a child care position, by providing basic details about their family.

The site contains a Credentials Upload feature (child carers can upload supporting documentation to a secure server, as evidence of the credentials they have stated), a Feedback rating system (parents can comment on carers they have hired and carers can rate parents they have worked for – star ratings and comments submission), nifty icons in search results and profiles to visually identify whether a member has opted into Shared Care, Emergency/Short Notice or Respite Care. The site is written in PHP and PERL and contains search forms linking to the MySQL database of signed up members.
